The Origin Story
Born from Passion
In 2007, Richard Lin — a MINI Cooper owner and professional show car detailer — created BlackWow Classic because he was tired of trim products that only lasted a few weeks. Most products sat on the surface and washed off with the next rain. He wanted something that actually penetrated the plastic.
With his father, a world-renowned cosmetic scientist, Richard formulated a silicone-based gel that absorbs deep into plastic's pores. The distinctive red color was chosen to stand out in a sea of blue and purple products. The watermelon Jolly Rancher scent? That was just for fun.
The name came from a community naming contest — but none of the 120+ submissions were quite right. So Richard named it after the most common reaction when customers saw their trim: "Wow, that's black!"

How to Apply
Clean First
Remove all previous products using PreWow Cleaner. Wash off with dish soap and dry thoroughly.
Apply Sparingly
Work pea-sized drops into the material, giving it time to fully absorb. A little goes a LONG way.
Let It Absorb
Schedule this before your next car wash. For best results, let BlackWow absorb for at least one day before getting wet.
Reapply as Needed
On smooth plastics, apply in heavier coats and leave for several days. Some plastics need heavier initial coats.
